School Vouchers Coming to Douglas County, Colorado
Vodpod videos no longer available.
Opponent of vouchers: People don’t want public funds used for private education.
Vouchers supporter: I’m not afraid of Jesus in the classroom — I’m afraid of failure in the classroom.
This voucher program allows public schools to keep 25% of the money that would have been allocated for a student whose parents opt for the voucher to send their child to a private school. Some say this will enrich public schools because they will be paid for a student that is not there.
The benefit to be derived from vouchers is that it will require public schools to compete with private schools for students. Competition has a way of making all the players better at what they do.
Oh well, the liberal Democrat Justices on the Colorado Supreme Court will probably declare it unconstitutional.
