Tea Party Photo Comparison With Occupy Wall Street

UPDATE 12/10/2011:  Today in Boston — The Utopian dreamers of Occupy Boston are leaving behind a disgusting field of filth on the formerly scenic Rose Kennedy Greenway, where trees will have to be replanted, grass resodded, sprinklers repaired or replaced and the entire area power-hosed in a massive cleanup that could take weeks.

The Tea Party protesters always left things cleaner when they departed. What do you say about that Elizabeth Warren?

A comparison of the Tea Party and Occupy Wall Street in photos:

I still stand by Occupy. Benefits from the government isn’t handouts. There are millions of people in America that can’t make ends meet (which means at the current minimum wage they can not afford to pay basic bills needed to survive). “Handouts” keep people alive. According to the Declaration of Independence we area all entitled to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. So, in other worse, we are all entitled to being able to survive on a decent wage so we don’t suffer and die, we are entitled to freedoms to protect our human rights, and we are entitled to live our life in whatever way makes us happy until it infringes on someone else’s right to live the way they want.
Right now the wealthiest people in America, multi-millionaires, pay very little in taxes if any at all. Thanks to the Bush-era tax cuts and programs to special tax refunds to the wealthiest Americans, they don’t contribute back to the government. This has resulted in a failed economy, a recession, unemployment as they make layoffs and payroll cuts so they can gain more profits, and we are on the way to a depression. We are slowly losing our human rights such as freedom of assembly, freedom of speech, unlawful search and seizure as well as unlawful arrests. Sure the Tea Party has flags and were also carrying armed weapons. But this goes to show that the government will protect the rights of people who support the rich buying out congress politicians so they vote on what the 1% want instead of voting on what the people truly need. Our congress has alterior motives, something that President Roosevelt warned against in his 1910 speech about nationalism.
Our country is no longer #1. We have fallen behind compared to so many other countries on topics such as health care, womens’ rights, human rights, education, “government handouts”, and so much more. Other countries such as France, Spain, Australia, and Denmark are in the lead. We are now a country that caters to the wealthy while the poor and middle class have nothing. Back in the 50’s to 70’s the wealth was spread among everyone and the economy flourished. The rich weren’t that much richer than everyone else. However, as the wealthy got tax cuts and tax program benefits that would benefit only them, they started becoming greedy for more money. They started laying off more people, sending jobs overseas so they didn’t have to pay employees as much or provide benefits, and paying the people working for them less and less as well as cutting their benefits, just so they can make more money in profits. Instead of paying taxes with those profits, they stocked it away or paid off politicians to pass laws that would benefit only them. In the mean-time as a result of all of this, people became poorer and poorer. Prices for everything went up and the cost of living rose. People are now working more than one job to try and make ends meet. For example my husband works two jobs trying to make ends meet and I’m in the process of trying to find another job since my savings is almost depleted. We literally cannot afford christmas and we’re even on food stamps. Without food stamps we would be on the street cause we couldn’t afford rent. We can barely afford electric, water, or gas.
What makes it worse, there are people a lot worse off than us but the GOP and Tea Party just turn their heads to the needs of the poor even though it was Jesus that said the poor was more important than money or possessions and everyone should help those less fortunate. Especially at Christmas time people look at Occupy protesters as nuisances but they are only looking for a better future for themselves and their kids in a time where the government doesn’t seem to care or want to help out as well as a lot of it’s citizens. They are drawing attention to the problems that no one else wants to address or fix.
It bothers me that there are politicians who would rather benefit the greed of a few instead of helping the needs of many. Instead of allowing the rich to be tax (which wouldn’t tax small businesses), they would rather cut benefits to the people who need it the most. That’s not human and that’s not Christian. That’s stepping on the poor and the needy, something that Jesus would be ashamed to see.
So while the tea party waves their flags, Occupy waves their hearts pleading that people hear them and want to help them instead of the rich who don’t need help. Also, a lot of Occupy protesters and supporters have jobs, but even the ones that don’t can’t find jobs, even the ones with college degrees because we are in the middle of a recession with extremely high employment. We are not helping the economy by not helping the poor and middle-class. If this rift between the classes continues the economy will only get worse to the point where America will turn into a third-world country instead of a first world country (especially after the GOP solutions to get rid of child labor laws and unions).
We have rights and they need to be honored and protected. We don’t want our soldiers to fight so hard to protect our rights overseas only to have them taken away by our own politicians as a result of corporate greed. If we don’t have our rights by law, then the corporations will benefit by treating people however they want. It’s so easy to believe that it will never happen because people will stop it but it is happening and the only people trying to stop is are the Occupy Protesters.
The Occupy movement has spread to more than 15 countries world wide which only shows that this corporation government take over isn’t only an American problem but a world wide problem.
We need answers, we need change, we need freedom.

Have you tried working for a paycheck? You know, so you could pay for your own stuff? Maybe that’s what you need.

Except that there have been arrests at tea party rallies. Granted, there have been far less, mostly because OWS is a real threat to the status quo where tea party rallies are not. There were tea party arrests in Phoenix and in other cities so right off the bat this graphic is spinning a lie.

Regardless, the vast majority of tea parties in this country are conducted by little girls.

There have been no arrests at Tea Party rallies. Not one. You sir, are the one spinning a lie.
